3dfx & Gigapixel merger complete
2000-07-24 | posted by Assassin | print

The 3dfx and Gigapixel merger is finally officially complete. Hopefully by this time next year, 3dfx will put out a high-end multichip card with tile-rendering. I'll have to prepare an AGP slot for that.
3dfx Interactive Inc. today announced the completion of its merger with GigaPixel Corporation.

The merger was approved by the Company's shareholders at its Annual Meeting held on July 19 at the Company's headquarters in San Jose. Following completion of the merger, George T. Haber, a founder of GigaPixel, and Andrei M. Manoliu, a member of the GigaPixel Board of Directors, were elected to join the Company's Board of Directors.

The merger marks an important step in enhancing the 3dfx technology leadership and expanding our business for the future," said Alex Leupp, president and CEO of 3dfx. "We believe we have acquired not only a breakthrough 3D technology and core expertise, but also a proven design team which will lead to the success of the combined companies."
